Healthy, Flavoured Milk from Horlicks and Milkmaid « Mummy Knows Best - The hands-on mum's guide to cool kids' stuff

Cow Juice Milk Wars

My 3 year old just asked me for ‘cow juice’, I couldn’t react for the first few seconds because I found the term so funny and then I asked her where she got it from. From an advertisement apparently! For this little girl, ‘cow juice’ simply means any kind of tetra-pack flavoured milk beverage. All I could organize over the phone was 2 packs of the new Horlicks chocolate milk and the older familiar, Milkmaid ‘funshake’ packs.

My daughter promptly returned an hour later, with 3 friends in tow. This was going to be their ‘cow juice’ party. Since all four packs were chocolate, as a mommy, I didn’t mind giving each one a pack. The two unfamiliar packs were keenly studied by the four pre-schoolers and deemed drinkable, after all the cartoon cow was very endearing. After 10 minutes of quiet contemplation and a refreshing break, the kids broke the silence, with one simple line – “the one with the boy (Milkmaid Funshake) is chocolatier but the other one has a cute cow.”

Available at leading grocery stores and priced at Rs. 17.
