Every thrill seeking water baby’s dream come true…..

headed off early on a weekday via the Mira Bhayandar route and breakfasted at 9am on a blissfully empty Gorai beach.

A special bus ferried us from the parking lot to the ticket counter, and we packed our towels and dry clothes into the small lockers provided. Since we were going to be wet all day, I donned my swimsuit under a lycra tee and cycling shorts so I could enjoy the fast rides without worrying about wardrobe malfunction. A hat, generous layer of sunscreen, money in a dry pouch and we were off – handsfree!

Waterkingdom is a must do. It propably gets crowded and possibly rowdy (they do have a beer counter) on a weekend, but the place is humongous with rides for all ages and areas like the ‘Lazy River’ for the entire family. The Goofers Lagoon is super for babies and adults. Our three year old was ecstatic after going down a spiral closed tube (Yikes!) but he came out yelling ‘Again. Mama, catch me?’ The Wave Pool is just “awesome”. We had a bunch of picnicking school children and their madness and noise added to the fun. The water was clean, the area green and lush with cashew nut trees, mango and palms and all zones well maintained.

My son now dreams slides in his sleep saying ‘Lets go on that one’ and ‘Again’. We are certainly headed back but maybe in the monsoons when we can truly have the place to ourselves.
