We took our just under four year old son for the Clown Fest show last evening and while he was thrilled with the clowns,I thought the production was over-rated. I really expected much more from an International Clown Fest.
The clowns costumes are great but their accents are a little difficult to follow especially for the tiny tots. Ideally this is a show for older kids (read as not for under 5s – they will get restless in no time)
There is no set, backdrop or any other production element but for the props used in each segment arranged on the stage. The clowns come on in segments, do their bit and exit. A little basic for city kids who are exposed to international events in the same vein on TV.
They did mention juggling classes for kids from over 8 years of age along with a workshop and that might be interesting for those who would like to learn a few tricks.
For now however, Rambo Circus is on at the Bandra Reclamation grounds and we know they have the entire shabang on; this time in an all a/c tent. And while Rambo have cleverly advertised their circus as International Clown Festival (they have clowns from 9 countries they say)- please note they are not in any way connected to the Clown Fest mentioned above.
    Happy holidays folks.
