If your child is between the ages of 10 months and 6 years then you can now borrow age appropriate toys and finally say ‘yahoo! no mess with old toys piling up’.  So all you Mumbaiites, we have discovered a gem of a toy library in Bandra. It’s called Crezca (means growth in Spanish) and we really just need to know where it is and how to get there even if we can’t pronounce it right.

We visited with our 3 year old and a couple of his friends and were thrilled with the products on display. Right from books and DVDs to toys and educational products of every brand (some of which have even been reviewed on this site)  they were all there; each one packed neatly in a brown zippered sari bag. Farida who owns and runs the place is an educator herself and easily guided our 3 bachhas.

We even discovered a human anatomy doll where the parts of the body can be assembled – great learning tool even for adults rusty on the biology lessons. Crezca works on the Multiple Intelligences Theory (Gardner), so every product works at least one of the eight intelligences – and you can see which one on the detailed labels.

As a library, this one too requires membership of a minimum of 3 months, and each month offers you 12 items irrespective of size or type. Of course there is a clause about lost pieces and damaged goods but right now the entire range is in exceptionally good shape – brand new. We are headed back to pick the musical mat and work-mans tool kit.
