definite ‘to do’ as it kept the kids riveted for the entire duration and has been produced well with a good story, characters, costumes and music.

This theatrical musical adventure produced by Ashvin Gidwani is inspired by tales from Indian folklore, Aesop fables and Jataka Tales. The show is high energy with songs, dance, drama, mystery and humour performed by actors like Omkar Kulkarni, Nitin Swami, Nikhil Rajeshirke and Nidhi Bisht.

The play is the story about a man’s journey to discover magic. On his travels, he meets talking animals like Mac the confident monkey, Monty the human disliking elephant, Jaggu the Jackal who no one can trust and Kabir the silly, clumsy crow. With other characters like the Owl scientist, the main character Varun goes to new places and adventures through the forest and has to get back to the real world to help his friends save the jungle from destruction by evil forces.

With all this drama in place, director Tejas Parvatkar promises to lead us on an entertaining voyage. The Comedy Store has a tiny auditorium so it would be best to book in advance as am about to do.

Comedy Store January 29th and 30th, 2:00 pm. Rs. 400/- per ticket. http://in.bookmyshow.com/events/Punch-A-Tantra-/ET00005925
