I have a baby girl who’s 1st birthday is in march. I am very eager for that day and want to do all the things but dont know how to start with.I heard that babies get irritated if we throw big parties with a lot of unknown people and will cry or feel uncomfortable. I dont want to ruin the party. So will u please suggest anything for this and
also i am new to bangalore and want to know if there are any places here to hangout with family where my kid can enjoy on that special day.
We had answered a similar query a few months ago where we’d suggested a few places that would be nice:
Yes, babies do get irritated and cranky with large crowds and unfamiliar faces coothie-cooing over them, but then, it is a special day and you do want to celebrate. There are a few ways to try and make it enjoyable for everyone concerned. Try and delegate most of the work to outside parties – professionals or willing relatives so the day is stress-free for you, and you can spend the day with your daughter. An outdoor setting will also minimise the noise of a large group and be more peaceful for the baby. Pick a time that your baby will be comfortable, maybe soon after the morning or afternoon nap and make sure she’s well fed before.
For a party like this, there’ll probably be various age groups. If there are a lot of kids of different ages, a place like Peekaboo or Gambolla will be suitable. If there are more adults, then carting everyone off to a resort on the outskirts of Bangalore would be a great way to connect in a peaceful and fun setting. There are lots of resorts that cater to this – they have Day Picnic packages that provide Lunch and afternoon tea, and you can use all their facilities. Check out resorts in North Bangalore, Kanakapura Road and Whitefield/Sarjapur area. A few to get you started are Angana on Kanakapura Road, and Taj Kuteeram in Hesarghatta. A nice place for kids and adults to hangout is Gerry Martin’s Farm near Sarjapur. They have special birthday packages as well – Contact Yamini Martin at 9845929004 for enquiries. Silver Oak Farm at the foothills of Nandi Hills is a pretty place and ideal for get togethers. And lastly, if you want to go old school, Cubbon Park is always available for a large family picnic (just check out if the metro construction causes a lot of disturbance).
Remember not to stress-out and just have fun – your baby will follow your cues! Happy Birthday to your little girl – drop us a line to let us know how it went,
